Vanessa Hites is an attorney with a background in both corporate and international legal affairs. She currently works as a Legal Advisor for Zachor Legal Institute, where she focuses on combating antisemitism, advocating for Jewish communities, and addressing issues of discrimination and civil rights, particularly in educational and public spaces.
Vanessa earned her law degree from the University of Chile, where she completed her thesis on the unconstitutionality of the BDS movement. During her time at the university, Vanessa also served as the President of the Jewish Student Federation.
After graduation, Vanessa initially worked in the corporate legal sector. However, driven by a passion for advocacy and human rights, she transitioned to a role as Legal Advisor at the Israeli Embassy in Chile, where she focused on combating discriminatory policy and legislation.
Vanessa further advanced her expertise by obtaining an LLM in International Legal Studies from New York University (NYU). She was admitted to NYU with the Dean’s Graduate Award and was honored with the Chuna David and Rose Estreicher Memorial Prize, given to a law student showing exceptional promise in the study of issues concerning Israel and the Jewish people.
Her academic and professional journey reflects a deep commitment to legal scholarship and addressing issues of discrimination, civil rights, and human rights on both local and global scales.
