liberalism and exhibiting innovative, soulful beauty. She is also editor-in-chief of yofi magazine,
the first Israeli arts magazine. Curator of the book and exhibition Passage to Israel (Skyhorse,
2016), she is also author of The Lipstick Proviso: Women, Sex & Power in the Real World
(Doubleday, 1997) and The Inspired Home: Interiors of Deep Beauty (Harper Design, 2013). A
former guest scholar at the Cato Institute, the Brookings Institution, and the Woodrow Wilson
International Center for Scholars, Karen's essays have appeared in The New Republic, The Wall
Street Journal, Tablet, Slate, The New York Times, and The Wilson Quarterly.
