Avi (Ralph) Goldwasser has been an activist on college campuses for over 20 years. He co-founded The David Project supporting Jewish students on college campuses. He was also served on the Boston boards of the American Jewish Committee (AJC) and the Jewish Community Relationship Counsel (JCRC). He currently works with The Jewish Leadership Project a national grassroots group working to develop strong Jewish leaders. He is also in a leadership role with Confronting Antisemitism Network(CAN).
He recently co-authored a controversial book about failing Jewish leaders: “Betrayal The Failure of the American Jewish Leadership.”
As a filmmaker, he Produced the award-winning “The Forgotten Refugees”: a film about the plight of Jews from Arab countries. Also, “The J Street Challenge”: a documentary about a new advocacy group that promotes American initiatives to force the Israeli government to establish a Palestinian State. "Hate Spaces" a documentary that illustrates how anti-Semitism is being made fashionable at many American universities. "Columbia Unbecoming" a documentary about the intimidation of Jewish students on the Columbia University campus.
Born in Poland to Holocaust survivors, Avi grew up in Israel and New York City. He has BSEE from CCNY, and an MBA from NYU. Professionally, he worked at Price Waterhouse Coopers (has a CPA). He has been a financial executive in the high-tech industry, CFO of several NYSE high tech companies.
